On October 11th, 2013, PHAUS VT, in association with the Building Performance Professionals Association of Vermont (BPPA) and with the generous help of the Green Building program at Vermont Tech, will be hosting a day of presentations about various important topics related to Passive House in our Cold and Wet climate (Climate Zone 6).
The event will be held in Judd Hall on the Vermont Tech campus in Randolph, Vermont.
The target audience for the Symposium are building professionals (architects, builders, consultants and contractors) who are interested in or already involved in some form of energy efficient building but are not yet building to the highest energy efficient standard in the world. We are seeking to educate and spread the word about the Passive House Building Standard to the larger green building community in Vermont.
Topics that will be covered include appraisal of green buildings, cost comparison between a Vermont Code House and a Passive House, payback period for a PH in our climate, green mortgages: issues and solutions, status of PH’s in Vermont and a builder’s tale of building a PH.
