Leadership coaching provides real-world advice to students

Norwich University is partnering with alumni to execute a single-day coaching program for undergraduate students to build self-awareness around the specific leadership competencies necessary to become more effective leaders. This program provides safe, confidential and developmental feedback to students in order to enhance their overall leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills.

A successful pilot of the program was held this past spring with 22 coaches and students participating in the single day event . This March, 75 alumni volunteers will engage their expertise as leadership coaches to accommodate more students in the Architecture, Business, Engineering and Nursing Schools. Alumni and students will work together in group and individual settings as they conduct five case studies, an elevator pitch and engage in a one-on-one feedback session.

Alumni coaches will evaluate and provide feedback to students on competencies such as: listening; oral communication; decision making; ethics; leadership and teamwork. Alumni leaders willing to volunteer as coaches to support students’ engagement in this program should register here.
