Student artists in SA 103 Introduction to Drawing sample a wide range of techniques, focusing primarily on drawing from observation. Today, chickens modeled for students in Prof. Lisa Kippen’s class, bringing a certain organic energy.
“The group experience of drawing live models accelerates the process of training the eye, especially in terms of gauging proportion,” says Prof. Kippen.
Kippen, who is also the Director of the Tunbridge School of Art, met the models at Monarch Hill in Tunbridge, home of two young outstanding art students, Miles and Rowan, as well as a prolific flock of chickens. Although the young artists themselves were not able to attend Prof. Kippen’s drawing class at Norwich University’s School of Architecture and Art, a representative duo of chickens brought a bit of Monarch Hill’s creative energy.
