Timothy Parker is an architect and an architectural historian and theorist, with solid grounding in intellectual history by way of a graduate degree in philosophy. He earned his PhD in architectural history and theory at the University of Texas at Austin, focusing upon the interpretation of modern religious architecture. The importance of his research has been recognized by several substantial fellowships and awards, including the Carter Manny Award, from the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, and two William S. Livingston Fellowships from the UT Graduate School. Timothy has presented his work at regional, national, and international professional meetings, including those of the Society of Architectural Historians, the College Art Association, the American Academy of Religion, and DOCOMOMO. He has also put his expertise to use in the service of historic preservation, including work on successful nominations for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. He especially relishes interdisciplinary teaching and research, and over the past decade has taught architecture, arts, and humanities subjects to students within high school, community college, undergraduate, graduate, and adult community education settings.
