Eleanor D’Aponte teaches graduate level seminars and lecture courses in Architecture. She teaches Fundamentals of Design l + ll as well as core curriculum courses in Human Issues, and Global Issues in Design.  She serves her University, School, Profession and Community. She is currently the school coordinator for the National Architectural Accrediting Board and authors annual accreditation and assessment reports. In 2014 she received a Charles A. Dana Category 1 grant for superior scholarship, teaching ability, and university service. Her design work outside of studio includes working with innovative fabric formed concrete structures.  She has served as a member of the Waitsfield Development Review Board and has contributed to community workshops and residencies, including ones to envision design strategies for the Mad River Glen Ski Area, the Open Hearth Community Center, and recently an outdoor classroom for Waitsfield Elementary School.

Prior to joining the faculty at The School of Architecture + Art, Prof. D’Aponte was associated with award winning architecture firms in her native New York City including diDomenico + Partners and Deamer and Phillips.  She has design experience that includes large-scale public industrial buildings as well as residential scale renovations and new construction.
